Maternal Wellness Pathway

A Preventative Perinatal Mental Health Program, incorporated within Nurture & Insight Psychiatry

Pregnancy and the postpartum period are associated with increased vulnerability to mood and anxiety symptoms, even in individuals without prior psychiatric history. Emotional concerns often develop gradually and may not meet criteria for acute intervention at the time they are first identified.

The Maternal Wellness Pathway offers structured, longitudinal psychiatric support during pregnancy and postpartum, allowing for early identification of concerns, continuity of care, and timely intervention when needed. This program provides a clear referral option for patients who may benefit from proactive perinatal mental health support.

Referral to the Maternal Wellness Pathway may be appropriate for patients who:

  • Report increased anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm

  • Have a history of mood or anxiety disorders

  • Experienced prior perinatal mood or anxiety symptoms

  • Have pregnancy or delivery complications

  • Are high-functioning but minimizing distress

  • Would benefit from preventative psychiatric oversight

*A mental health diagnosis is not required to participate*
